Following several days filled with outstanding performances, inspiring artistic encounters, and the remarkable talent of young pianists from around the world, the competition programme of the Montenegro International Piano Festival 2026 has successfully concluded.

This year's edition of the international piano competition brought together 49 participants from 20 countries, aged 5 to 30, further confirming the festival's position as one of the most significant international music events for young pianists in the region.

The Montenegro International Piano Festival 2026 was officially inaugurated last night in Herceg Novi with a gala concert by the exceptional pianist Eva Gevorgyan, marking the beginning of a seven-day program that will, until June 21, bring together distinguished artists, renowned educators, and young pianists from around the world.

The opening ceremony took place in the unique setting of Ruža vjetrova at Lazure Hotel & Marina, attended by numerous guests from Montenegro’s public, cultural, and diplomatic communities.

The Montenegro International Piano Festival 2026 will officially open on June 15 in the stunning setting of the Rose of the Winds venue at Lazure Hotel & Marina in Herceg Novi, marking the beginning of seven days dedicated to outstanding concerts, international competition, artistic excellence, and cultural exchange.

The Montenegro International Piano Festival was honoured to present its artistic vision and future development plans during a special evening hosted by Rotary Club Kotor at the elegant Hotel Cattaro, located in the heart of Kotor’s Old Town.

The most prestigious award of the second edition of the Montenegro International Piano Festival Kotor — the Montenegro Grand Prix — was awarded to the young pianist Faruk Kalayaci from Turkey, who impressed both the professional jury and the audience with his exceptional musical maturity, virtuosity, and strong stage presence.

The Montenegro International Piano Festival (MIP Festival) was officially opened last night with the gala concert Pianorama, held on the spectacular stage of the Forza Kuk Amphitheatre above Kotor. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the artistic performance of Hungarian virtuoso Gergely Bogányi, who performed on his self-designed Bogányi piano – an innovative instrument presented for the first time to the Montenegrin public.

As part of this year’s Montenegro International Piano Festival program, an inspiring and insightful lecture was held at the Creative Hub in Kotor, delivered by Dr. Stefan Cvetković, musicologist and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
