Solemnly Closed Montenegro International Piano Festival Kotor 2025

In the magnificent setting of the concert hall of the Church of the Holy Spirit, the second edition of the Montenegro International Piano Festival Kotor was solemnly brought to a close.

Over the past days, the Festival brought together young talents, world-renowned pianists, and lovers of classical music, confirming its reputation as one of the most significant cultural events in Montenegro and the region, the organizers announced.

The final festival evening was marked by a spectacular concert by the legendary pianist Cyprien Katsaris, whose performance delighted the audience and left a powerful artistic impression. His appearance represented the musical highlight of the Festival and once again confirmed Kotor’s growing status as a recognizable destination on the world piano map.

At the closing ceremony, addresses were delivered by the Director of the Kotor Tourist Organization, Jovan Ristić; the Festival’s founder and Artistic Director, Vasilisa Lopušina—who also read the speech of the Director of the “Vida Matjan” Music School, Mihajlo Lazarević—as well as Danijel Gašparović, a member of the Festival’s Artistic Council and jury.

The Director of the Kotor Tourist Organization, Jovan Ristić, emphasized the importance of the Festival for the development of cultural tourism and the international promotion of the city.

“Kotor is a city that has always lived through culture, and events like this contribute to its inclusion on the world map of music centers. We are proud that Kotor is the host of a festival that brings together the most talented young artists from around the world,” Ristić said.

The Festival’s Artistic Director, Vasilisa Lopušina, expressed her gratitude to all partners and institutions that supported the realization of the Festival, especially the Municipality of Kotor, the Public Cultural Institution “Nikola Đurković” Cultural Center, and the “Vida Matjan” Music School.

“This Festival was born from a dream to create a space in Kotor where music connects people, cultures, and generations. Watching the audience and artists breathe together with the music, I felt that this dream had become a reality,” Lopušina stated.

The second edition of the Montenegro International Piano Festival Kotor once again confirmed that the city on the shores of the Bay of Kotor is becoming an important center of classical music on the Adriatic.
