Inspiring Lecture as Part of the Montenegro International Piano Festival
As part of this year’s Montenegro International Piano Festival program, an inspiring and insightful lecture was held at the Creative Hub in Kotor, delivered by Dr. Stefan Cvetković, musicologist and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Entitled “Transfigurations of Pianistic Practice from the 19th to the 21st Century,” Dr. Cvetković explored the evolution of piano artistry through history — from changes in performance styles and repertoire choices, to pedagogical approaches, the development of the instrument itself, and the role of media in shaping contemporary pianism.
The lecture was designed for masterclass participants as well as the wider audience, offering a deeper insight into how pianism has transformed across different eras while remaining a living art form that continuously redefines its identity.
Through programs such as this, the Montenegro International Piano Festival reaffirms its commitment not only to outstanding performances, but also to creating spaces for learning, dialogue, and inspiration.
