Education in Focus: Montenegro International Piano Festival Continues with International Masterclass Programme
Following the successful conclusion of its international competition, the Montenegro International Piano Festival continues with its educational programme, reaffirming its mission to provide young artists with opportunities for continuous artistic development and direct mentorship from world-renowned pedagogues.
As part of the Festival’s masterclass programme, 14 selected young pianists are currently taking part in intensive individual lessons with internationally acclaimed professors and performers. Through close collaboration with these distinguished musicians, participants have the opportunity to refine their interpretative, technical, and artistic skills while gaining valuable experience that will support their future professional development.
The masterclasses are led by Nataliya Trull, one of Russia’s most distinguished pianists and Professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory; Ian Jones, Professor at the Royal College of Music in London and one of Europe’s most respected piano pedagogues; and Giuseppe Devastato, renowned Italian pianist, professor, and artistic director of numerous international music projects.
Working with artists whose careers have been marked by appearances on prestigious concert stages and extensive pedagogical experience, young pianists are able to acquire new knowledge, develop their artistic individuality, and establish professional connections that may have a significant impact on their future careers.
The educational component remains one of the most important values of the Montenegro International Piano Festival. In addition to the international competition, the Festival continues to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge, artistic experience, and cultural dialogue between young talents and established artists from different countries.
The Festival will conclude on June 21 with a gala concert and recital by Andrey Gugnin, one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation. Renowned for his extraordinary virtuosity, strong artistic individuality, and interpretations that combine technical brilliance with profound musicality, Gugnin performs regularly at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals.
The closing concert will take place at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Kotor at 9:00 PM and will be presented on the occasion of World Music Day, in collaboration with the Nikola Đurković Cultural Centre Kotor and the Vida Matjan School of Music.
Once again, the Montenegro International Piano Festival confirms its role as an important international centre for artistic education and cultural cooperation, bringing together young talents, distinguished professors, and audiences through outstanding artistic programmes while creating new opportunities for future generations of pianists.
