Rules
The MIP Piano Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, aged 5 to 30, and is divided into four age categories:
• Baby Prodigy (ages 5–8): up to 7 minutes
• Category A (ages 9–12): up to 15 minutes
• Category B (ages 13–18): up to 30 minutes
• Category C (ages 18–30):
• Round I: up to 20 minutes
• Round II (6 finalists): up to 40 minutes
Participants will perform in alphabetical order, determined by a public draw.
The Competition includes a First Round and, depending on the age category, a Final Round.
The Competition reserves the right to record and broadcast any of the rounds for promotional or archival purposes.
Note: A participant may apply to a higher age category, but not to a lower one.

Program Requirements
• Baby Prodigy: free choice program
• Category A: one etude + works from different periods
• Category B: one classical sonata movement + one etude + free choice
• Category C:
• Round I: one etude + free program
• Round II: complete sonata + one work by Ravel + free choice

Preselection
All applicants are required to submit a video recording as part of the application process:
• Baby Prodigy & Category A: up to 5 minutes
• Category B & Category C: up to 10 minutes
Video Guidelines:
• Must be recorded within the last 12 months
• One continuous take (no cuts or edits)
• Multiple camera angles allowed, but no interruptions
• Performer’s hands and face must be visible at all times
• Smartphone recordings are acceptable if clear
• Record in a quiet environment with minimal background noise

Application Fee
Participants enrolled in the Masterclasses may take part in the Competition free of charge.
External participants must pay the application fee via bank transfer (free of any charges for the receiver) by July 15, 2025:
• Baby Prodigy & Category A: €60
• Category B & Category C: €80

General Provisions
• Prizes may be shared
• The jury is not obliged to award all prizes
• The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal
• All prizes and grants are subject to applicable taxes
• Award-winning pianists must be present in person at the Closing Ceremony to receive their prizes
• The organizers reserve the right to make decisions on matters not covered by these rules
